Registered Reflexologist and Certified Ayurvedic Indie Head Masseuse, Former Radio Broadcaster and Freelance Columnist, Lisa Ray's career has taken many paths... from working on cruise ships to being stranded at sea to finding herself behind the microphone at various radio stations, to writing a bi-weekly column called "Fifty Shades of Ray" sharing stories of her daily life, whether it be home renovation adventures with Husband or trying to keep in step at her Zumba class. Lisa Ray has become a phoenix rising again and again, transforming herself as she continues to strive and learn. In the midst of a pandemic and with time on her hands she was looking for a creative distraction. Having been introduced to Paint Pouring and Whimsical Doodle style of painting through friends she was immediately inspired. ARTIST STATEMENT My creative journey has taken me to experiment with many varied styles of art all the while finding inspiration through my cats. If you look closely you will always find a cat in my artwork. The idea of The Groovy Cats series has given me the whimsy of storytelling through paint and texture. My art brings about charm and comfort of an emotional connection. Painting, creating, being thoughtful of the process and sharing my art has been the perfect distraction during these exceptional times.
