Lorraine Beselaere
Born in England, Lorraine made her home in Canada at 11-years old. Her creative skills were evident even as a young girl, and she has honed her talents over the years, utilizing a variety of mediums. While raising two children, Lorraine created a successful home business teaching Folk Art or Tole Painting to students of various levels of experience. She volunteered as a leader for many years with the Girl Guides of Canada and had the distinctions of "Creative Designer/Craft Master." Lorraine currently works on the Mental Health Unit in a Mississauga, Ontario hospital and, during the last year, has found the need to release the enormous stress of the pandemic by getting lost in colour. ARTIST STATEMENT What started as my "little Covid project" has blossomed into an opportunity to express myself and my passion through art. My exploration of bright colour and smooth lines is inspired by the same wonder I have about the world. My travels and adventures have led me to the Middle East, Indonesia, and beyond, and each journey has guided me on a path to imagination and creativity.
